  1. Core Electives : Students need to complete 9 credits(3 courses) from at least three of the Core Elective fields.

Major-related Electives : Choose one language among German, French, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Spanish, Classical Chinese and complete 6 credits of corresponding language courses listed in ‘Foreign Languages other than English’. (Complete beginner, intermediate or Ⅰ,Ⅱ courses from the same language.)

※Common Graduation Requirements in KU :

Completion of the second major(required) (not applicable to the case of undergraduate transfer.)

Certificate of official English Test(foreign language) (as of students who started college in 2000)

Completion of 5 English courses(Original, Foreign language) (3 courses for Undergraduate Transferred students) *It does not matter whether it is major or general education course. Both are acceptable.

For matriculants who are not Korean citizen, it is required to acquire KU Korean Language Course Level 4 and above or TOPIK Level 4 and above. (not applicable to those who sent the qualification already in time of matriculation.)

Foreign students who enter foreign students after the 2nd semester of 2017 (Korean literature department includes double, plural, and minor course)

  • Requirements for major classes : TOPIK Level 5 and above
  • Graduation requirement : TOPIK Level 6 and above

Certification of the comprehension of Chinese characters (including Undergraduate Transferred students)

  • Passing KU test of the understanding of Chinese Characters. It is recognized as satisfying requirement for Chinese Certificate(Hanja) standard for KU in case of acquiring certifications below.
  • Official institutions for Chinese characters and literature recognized by KU
